World Population Day Observed 


In 2019, the current world population is 7.7 billion. India population is equivalent to 17.74%  of the total world population. According to the United Nations survey, China is the largest population country with nearly 1.4 billion. India ranks number 2 in the world population and the United States in the third position. The survey shows, India's population growth declining in recent years.

World Population Day observed on July 11, every year. This day was suggested by Dr.K.C Zacharia in which world population reaches Five Billion. In the 1994 international conference on world population, the UNFPA organization published a message " Fulfill their commitments to ensure universal access to sexual and reproductive health care ". The UNFPA works for support family planning. According to the United Nations, World population day 2019 theme is Family planning, empowering youth and developing nations to focus on the population issues.

St.Teresa's college conducted an awareness program about world population day on July 11.St.Teresa's college is an art and science college located in Kochi. The college was established on 15 June 1952. As you know today we face serious problems because of the growing population. So it is important to give awareness about the increasing population. The awareness program discusses the various issues related to the world population. Every year St.Teresa's college celebrated world population day on July 11.
