World Breast Feeding Week- St. Teresa College, Kochi


World breastfeeding week is celebrated every year 1 to 7 of August. It is conducted to improve and encourage Mothers to build a breastfeeding habit. Thereby creating a healthy mother-child relationship. As we all know breastfeeding is an inevitable part for our babies as well as the mother. A baby that do not get feed and a mother who is not feeding their child have equal health and mental problem.

Milk from the mother is the strongest food a child has from their mother. It contains all the necessary ingredient needed for a baby up to month 6. Later can give some other juicy foods that contain enough vitamins and calcium.

Importance of Breastfeeding Day


Breastfeeding s not a simple thing that should bother once in a year. But sometimes need an awareness. As a part of this the Postgraduate students of St. Teresa's College, Kochi of nutrition and dietetics department has conducted a community programme based on this. 

Publicity of this kind of information is very important for our mothers. As well as for every woman, because one in a while she will be a mother. This video contains all the information regarding the importance of breastfeeding, the necessary food for baby and mother during the period of breastfeeding, the problems caused due to the deficiency of mother's milk, etc.
