Silk and Silk Mark -An Awareness class in St.Teresa's
Silk is a natural protein fiber, some forms of it can be made into cloth. Silks are Known for use in the textile industry. Its smooth and sparkling color, that makes it comfortable to wear in both winter and hot weather conditions. Silk is made from several insects; however, in general, only the silk of moth caterpillars has been used in textile production.
Silk Mark helps people to identify pure silk. The label certifies that the cloth item that has the logo is produced from genuine, raw silk. The certification scheme was introduced by the Central Silk Board in 2004. Each logo has a hologram and a specific number written on it, allowing the customers to trace the product.
